A Fortnight of Firsts Over the past two weeks, Dan and I have had a number of moments that made us want to slap our palms to our foreheads. The nominees: 1) I asked a neighbor where I could “buy chicken.” She pointed me towards a store down the road, and when I got there I found a number of chickens walking around making a ruckus. Not exactly what I was expecting. 2) Dan and I disentangled ourselves from an extremely crowded bus, and as soon as we got out a lady from inside the bus handed Dan a bag so it would be easier for her to get out, too. As we were waiting, the contents of the bag wobbled around and clucked at us. More chickens. Scared the daylights out of us. 3) After beginning with a rather gradual slope, the ocean floor outside our house drops dramatically right around the knee level. Learned that one the hard way. 4) If it is a vegetable, you can stir-fry it. Trust me.
